WARANCADE1By M. A. Egge

The minister of interior Hon. Ali Mohammed Waran-adde has directed local electricity suppliers to indulge in the maintenance of security, development and beatification of, not only the city, but other urban centres countrywide.

In a hard-hitting statement to the press on Friday evening held outside his office, Hon. Waran-adde said, “The electricity suppliers who charge exorbitantly hence pay little or no taxes at all should pay back to the society and eke hence light up the streets to boost security maintenance”.

The minister directed all local civic administrators to see to it that the order is adhered to. He said that the municipal councils which are ready to supply free security bulbs should co-ordinate with the electricity dealers hence the security, development and beautification of the towns be boosted.

“I think they pay little (if any) or no taxes at all”, he said to which choruses of “not at all” and “they don’t pay any” were heard from civic officials who stood by his side.

The minister said that small entrepreneurs were not really taxed before as inductive methods to help boost their morales and capacities before, “But now we see they have fledged hence ought to inject back to community”, said the minister.

He said the directive was not only an obligation but something that ought to be adhered to.
