The Minister of Civil Aviation and Air Transport Hon Omer Sheik Mohamed Farah and the Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowment Sheik Khalil Abdullah Ahmed this week received a high level delegation from the regional government of Chechnya.
The Chechen delegation is visiting the East African country to assess the needs of the Somali people so as to alleviate their suffering as a result of the drought. This comes in view of the directives of Chechnya regional Government President H.E Ramzan Akhmadovich Kadyrov , to provide humanitarian assistance to the Somaliland people affected by the drought.
Minister of Civil Aviation and Air Transport Hon Omer Sheik Mohamed Farah speaking during the press conference held at the Egal International airport VIP lounge said, “I very happy to welcome our brothers the Chechnya, as you’re well aware of the country has being severe drought for quite some time now which has immensely affected both the lives of people and citizens
The Chechen delegation will during their stay visit various regions of the country so as to do researching and evaluating the scope of the drought and finding ways to solve the hardship faced by most affected people.
