The annual Ramadan Cup was kicked off in Gabiley town today with different teams competing in this event
The Minister of Sports and Tourism and Youth Affairs Hon Ahmed Abdi Kahin, Minister of Finance Hon Zam Zam Abdi Aden, Mayor of Gabiley Mohamed Amin Omer and Hon Khadar Ali Gaas , the Presidential advisor on Media Affairs were present.
The Minister of Sports and Tourism and Youth Affairs Hon Ahmed Abdi Kahin praised the participating football teams and that the national inter regional football tournament will commence after theb end of the holy month of Ramadan, he further assured them that the government will continue to promote such events which will surely lead to improving the sports activities among the youth of this country.
Meanwhile the Minister of Finance Hon Zam Zam Abdi Aden present at the venue said, “I am sure that the Gabiley region football tournament will be a great success, judging by the great emphasis which the local sports officials give to it. We are happy to be here and also be part of this tournament.”
The Mayor of Gabiley Mohamed Amin Omer speaking at the venue said, “I would like to use this opportunity on behalf of Gabiley region to thank the Minister of Sports and Tourism and Youth Affairs Hon Ahmed Abdi Kahin, Minister of Finance Hon Zam Zam Abdi Aden and other officials who are here today with us
“Such sporting activities play a major role in dissuading local youth from embarking from activities which may endanger their life’s and engages in health, education and multitude of other needs”, he stated.
