On the 15th May 2014 Hon Aino-Kaisa PEKONEN member of parliament from Vasemmistoliitto Party has submitted a written motion for recognition of Somaliland to the Finnish Parliament.
Hon Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Irro), the Speaker of the Somaliland Parliament who met a week ago the chairman of Vasemmistoliitto party Hon Paavo ARHINMAKI MP has requested the chairman to support the recognition of Somaliland.
The Finnish Government has to respond the motion within three weeks according to the Finnish laws.
Hon PEKONEN met the Speaker of Somaliland parliament in the Finnish parliament before she submitted the motion and presented a copy to the Speaker.
