H.E President Ahmed Mohamed Mahmoud Silanyo today received American Tycoon and international entrepreneur Mr. John Moore who is visiting the country on a familiarization tour and also as part of a follow-up of last year’s Somaliland Investment conference which was held in London, UK.
During the press conference the American tycoon said, “I and the President of Somaliland have had a fruitful and productive meeting and I am looking forward in exploring the possibilities in investing here in Somaliland.
In particular the development of a free zone here in Somaliland and I am aware the government here is in the process of adopting a legislation and we shall follow that closely and I look forward to returning and bring with me my associates here so as to develop the private sector initiative from not only the united states but other countries as they try and work with the government of Somaliland to increase the potential of employment and what I hate to say taxes but overall to stimulate the economy of a country which has much potential.
During his more than forty-five-year business career, John Moore has founded or acquired a diversified portfolio of businesses including steel mills, wood products factories, publishing firms, trading companies, healthcare enterprises and resort and residential properties.
Recognized for his knowledge of emerging markets, he has also advised government, financial and industrial clients on a wide range of projects.
President Silanyo was during the meeting with the international entrepreneur flanked by by the Minister of National Planning Dr. Sacad Ali Shire , Minister of Foreign Affairs and International cooperation Hon Mohamed Bihi Yunis and his personnel assistant.
