H.E President Ahmed Mohamed Mahmoud Silanyo today the 20.01.2016 laid the foundation stone for the new ultra-modern building which will replace the old pre-colonial Somaliland Police headquarters premises.
The United Kingdom government is providing the funds for the construction of the new buildings for the Somaliland police , the old premises were first build in 1936 and an extension in 1942 during the colonial times, the construction of the new buildings began after the foundation lying ceremony and it expected to be finished within one years’ time.
President Silanyo speaking during the ceremony said, “I am very honored to be laying the foundation stone for the building which will house the new Somaliland police headquarters and secondly I would like on behalf of the people of Somaliland to thank the UK government for contributing funds for this project of national importance
