H.E President Ahmed Mohamed Mahmoud (Silanyo)today inaugurated the newly constructed building complex housing the Ministry Environment and Rural Development by the in a well-attended ceremony in Hargeisa.
President Silanyo cut the ribbon to the new building which will enable the facilitation of better delivery of services and run environmental affairs and he also plant a tree in the new ministry compound.
During the ceremony guests were served with an assortment of local cuisine consisting of Camel milk, Roast Meat, Dates, Honey, Maize, this diversity is also reflected in the many local culinary traditions in terms of choice of ingredients, style of preparation and cooking techniques.
The local Cuisine served to guests at today’s function was meant to promote our Heritage food and the revival of old recipes is now being rapidly replaced by Junk food such as cakes , sweets and sodas etc.
President Silanyo present honorary awards to those elders whose have contributed much in gathering our traditional knowledge of ad also preserving our indigenous history over the years?
The full furnished building complex is owned by the government he added that the building will greatly benefit the ministry.
