He was at the fore front of establishing blood-banks as he personally led the nation in donating it with his deputy following suit

“We are able to save many lives that may have unnecessarily perished due to lack of blood if we donate it,” were the words of wisdom given by the Head of State over the week when he donated his own blood at Hargeisa Group Hospital in a bid to launch the noble tradition in the country.
While being at the forefront of setting of the tradition of blood donation like other countries in the world, the President H.E. Musa Bihi Abdi emphasized the need for acknowledging and participating in donating the important substance for the sake of saving humanity.
He said, “It is imperative that ample amount of blood be banked for this cause such that we may aid as much needy patients as may be”.
It is worth noting that this noble act of donating blood has not been an in-thing in the country apart from emergency cases.
Elsewhere in the world they have blood banks in every major hospital and a national blood donation and blood banking policy whereas weeks-long or monthly exercises for the cause are mobilized.
The gesture of the President has received accolades given the feedback many in the media industry have palpated.
The VP H.E. Abdirahman Abdillahi Ismael Seyli’i also did the necessary and likewise participated in the noble gesture of donating his blood.
By the time we went to press reports that reached us was that many people heeded the president’s call and were continuing to donate blood at the assigned centres.
