Hargeisa-The National Electoral Commission code of conduct committee today held a press conference in they warned the three official national political parties WADANI, KULMIYE and UCID against engaging in political campaigning during the voter’s registration process which is due to commence soon in Maroodi Jeh.
Mr. Abdurrahman Aden Mohamed, National Electoral Commission spokesperson speaking to reporters during the press conference warned the three official political party’s officials against engaging political campaigning related activities during the voter’s registration process.
National Electoral Commission code of conduct committee strongly urges representatives of the three national political organizations to follow and respect provisions of the national electoral laws, signed codes of conduct, election procedures and campaigning discipline measures in order to prevent unwanted political behaviors that could distort the voter’s registration process which is due soon in Maroodi Jeh.
“For instance, we record unwanted political behaviors in form of early campaigning on the political organizations official during the period we were conducting the voter’s registration process in the last three regions,” he stated.
NEC Spokesperson further reiterated, “During the onset of the voters registration process the National Electoral Commission and the heads of the three official political Parties pledged to abide by the Electoral Code of Conduct once the voter’s registration process.
