The national cleanup day was marked in all major cities of the country with the various events attracting volunteers drawn from the broad spectrum taking action in their communities to transform public spaces into beautiful places.
The national cleanup day is a day when people are encouraged to participate in cleaning up the public lands and features various programs and activities.
The Ministry of Energy and Minerals Resources led by Hon Hussein Abdi Dualeh, the Minister of Energy and Minerals organized a cleanup and maintenance activities in Ahmed Dhagah suburb and Hargeisa Stadium together with ministerial staff, volunteers and state and local authorities with the aim of cleaning and preserving the beauty and safety of these areas .
The Minister of Energy and Minerals Resources speaking during the today’s event said, “Through our actions and impact, we help create communities that are socially connected, environmentally healthy and economically sound.
“Whether the place is a community garden, a city park or a vacant lot, public places provide a neutral space in which people can come together with a shared purpose of community building. By continually improving public spaces while caring for neglected ones, positive social and economic change occurs in communities across the country’, he stated.
The national cleanup day was marked in all regions and major cities in the country with all governmental departments participating in the day’s events.
