The Maverick Governor of Gabiley region Mr. Yusuf Ibrahim Geedi has been suspended indefinitely sources close to the Presidency has confirmed.
Although it’s not known what led to the suspension of the all-powerful administrator it seems to be related to arrest and mistreatment of Ethiopian External Intelligence officers in the western town of Gabiley some two weeks ago.
The Administrator was absent from a meeting which was convened this week in the town of Borame were all the Governors were present.
A local Somali Language newspaper (Geeska Afrika ) in a telephone interview with the Governor of Gabiley denied the reports.
The Incident involving the Ethiopian officials caused political fallout between the two nations and also forced Somaliland officials to issue an official apology.
