Somaliland Minister of Interior Hon Ali Mohamed Warancade currently on a working visit in Kenya has issued a press statement in which he warns local traditional leaders against engaging or taking part in any form whatsoever in the ongoing Federal government of Somalia conference on the modalities for the implementation of the 2016 electoral process.
The Ministerial Press statement read as follows:-
Somaliland has never been part of the reconciliation process of Somalia, including the recent talks in Mogadishu and the previous such forums held in the past nor shall the Republic of Somaliland be part of process and hasn’t sent any representation to the Mogadishu forum whether be it traditional tribal leaders, politicians or party whatsoever.
Therefore, the government of Somaliland bans its citizens from taking in any way or form in ongoing Federal government of Somalia conference on the modalities for the implementation of the 2016 electoral process.
We strongly urge Somaliland citizens from taking part in such gathering meant to undermine the sovereignty, anyone caught engaging in such treacherous activities shall face the full wrath of the law.
Somaliland Sovereignty is not for a haggle
