A high level official delegation led by the Ethiopian Minister of Communication and Information Technology Dr.Debretsion Gebremichael called on the Minister of Posts and Communications, Hon Mohamed Jama Abgal Somaliland Minister of Posts and Telecommunications on Friday.
The Ethiopian and Somaliland have entered into an agreement to boost bilateral relations, with a focus on international electronic remittance, improvement in EMS (Express Mail Service), wider use of Ethiopian Transit Mail Hub and better marketing of the international postal service.
Both the countries have agreed to further enhance cooperation in the postal sector and share information pertaining to universal postal service obligation, information on postal legislation and reforms, philately, training, capacity building etc. among other things.
Somaliland Posts Minister said that both Somaliland and Ethiopia have common goals to achieve. Hon Mohamed Jama Abgal said that Somaliland is trying to be self-reliant in the field of postal sector.
The Ethiopian Minister of Communication and Information Technology Dr.Debretsion Gebremichae appreciated the hospitality accorded to the delegation by his counterpart and hoped that cooperation between the two countries would continue to grow.
