The Vice President H.E. Abdirahman Abdilllahi Ismail noted that “it was praise-worthy to see people seeking refuge in a country like ours, which is unrecognized, because we adhere to international regulatory
norms”.
The VP gave the sentiments yesterday at the National Refugees and IDP’s Agency hall in a function that was kicking off a census and registration exercise directed at articulating the exact number of the population of refugees residing in the country.
The move to comprehensively register the refugee has had its format praised by the VP. He directed line ministerial, state agencies or departments to aid in
the exercise where applicable
