Two Somaliland police officers and 3 illegal immigrants of Ethiopian origin today lost their lives in a tragic road accident which occurred in Sheik town, Sahil region.
More than 50 other people’s mostly illegal immigrants of Ethiopian origin were injured in the gruesome accident and are currently being treated in hospitals in Berbera and Hargeisa.
The vehicle belonging to Somaliland police is said to have skidded and plunged over a cliff in the mountainous area.
The police transportation vehicle was transporting foreigners were nabbed in a recent security swap in Burao and Saraar town in Togdheer region and were at the time being transported to holding centers in Hargeisa before being deported to their countries.
