The Vice President of the Republic of Somaliland, His Excellency Abdurrahman Abdallahi Ismail (Saylici) today paid tribute to government officials and some national party leaders.
The meeting marked the 10th anniversary of the election of the Vice President of the Republic of Somaliland, by the former President of the Republic of Somaliland His Excellency Ahmed Mohamed Silanyo, on 27 July 2010, and was the re-elected by the incumbent President Excellency H.E Muse Bihi Abdi.
The Vice President was flanked by the Ministers of Finance, Religion, and Endowments Sheikh Khalil Abdullahi Ahmed and Dr. Saad Ali Shire both serving members of the Council of Ministers for 10 years.
The Vice President went on to say that he does normally sleep at night without first thinking about the national interest at heart, “I am the Vice President of the nation and I was sworn in for the second time on December 13, 2017; I believe, I have done what is obliged of me serving the people of Somaliland and the “Kulimye” led government for the last ten years, and many changes have taken place in the country during that period which cannot be repudiated.
The Vice President said that as a government they are ready to serve their people and I stand by the fact that “Kulmiye” party will continue to be in control of this country. If we (Kulmiye), the ruling political organization and as a group, if we improve our position and do the right thing, the people will always reward us by re-electing us back to the office, and I hope that we are ready to serve the people in good faith and as government.”
