Dr. Mohamed Abdi Hergeeya, the Director-General in the Somaliland Ministry of Health Development speaking at the Hargeisa Mental Hospital said that persons with disabilities are experiencing exclusion, discrimination, and neglect during the response to the pandemic. We don’t want this to be the case in the dissemination of COVID-19 vaccinations and it’s the responsibility of the government to make sure that patients in the Hospital Are vaccinated.
Dr. Ahmed Omer Askar, the Director-General of Hargeisa Group of Hospitals speaking during the occasion said, “Persons with disabilities face increased risk of contracting COVID-19 due to existing health conditions and that hospital staff would take responsibility for ensuring that people in the psychiatric hospital receive the vaccine.
Finally, the Director-General of the Ministry of Health inspected the various components of the Psychiatric Hospital in Hargeisa.
