Vocational Education Conference opened in Hargeisa

Vice President H.E. Abdirahman Abdillahi Ismail (Seyli’i) said that apprentice technical skills are a major precursor and a backbone of a nation’s development hence it is needful for the knowledge to be imparted.
The VP gave the sentiments at the opening of a maiden national conference on the matter.
He noted that it was imperative for the nation to move with time and be viable like other nations and countries of the world that exploit modern technologies.
He emphasized that the vocational education sector ought to be bolstered.
The Minister of Education, Hon. Ahmed Toorno, who made a speech at the National Vocational Education Conference that opened over the week said that the purpose of the conference is how to develop a plan for the development of vocational education in our country.
Various officials who spoke at the forum said that improving the knowledge of apprentice technical skills would meet many needs of the nation.
The Minister of Investment, Communications and Deputy Ministers of Information, Health & Education also presented speeches at the forum echoing the imperativeness that as a country the sector needed bolstering for the sake of development.
The Ministry of Education is bent on churning out young people who have learned various technical apprenticeships that are indispensable in the industrial development sector, said the Minister of Investment.
