The Somaliland Journalists Association represented by the Executive Director Mr. Yahye Mohamed attends the Rights Conference resumed today June 11-14, 2019 in the magnificent Palais des Congrès in the heart of downtown Tunis.
Opening session speakers including government officials and high profile speakers from across the world. In the opening session, Nikki Gladstone who is Program Manager of RightCon welcomed warmly the participating 2500 delegates from over 120 countries in most diverse and represented leading human rights conference in Tunis, also welcomes Brett Solomon who is the Director of Access now who have stated the crucial role of Access now team according to the offering a platform that experts, government officials, civil society members and activists can discuss the implication of human right violation in digital era along with other keynote speakers including Dunja Mijatovi who is the council of Euro, commissioner of Human rights who expressed her intention that all citizens deserve to life and enjoy their rights including China Muslims who were banned from Eid celebration in the last week.
Lastly, the Tunisia Minister of Justice officially opened the summit on behalf of Tunisia government, welcomed the guests, speakers and praised Access now organization for Tunis which will be the first host country of Rights Conference in Africa, also he glanced Tunis was the mother of Arab spring in 2011 and their government is considering the digital rights and regulation after the revolution.
RightsCon Tunis hosts over 2500 experts from 120 countries and features most connected program/events to be covered 450+ sessions.
The main aim for this summit is to gather to tackle some of the most pressing issues at the intersection of human rights and digital technology. The sessions will take place in parallel and will come up with solutions, resolutions, networking and drawing cooperation’s between individuals, groups, organization and regions participate to unite for digital technology human rights across the globe.
