The President of the Republic of Somaliland H.E Muse Bihi Abdi pardoned 574 prisoners as part of measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the country.
In a Press Statement Released by the Director of Presidential Communication Office Mr. Nasir Dahir stated as Follows:-
As of today, I offer a general amnesty to inmates of felony convictions in state prisons, totaling 574 (Five Hundred and Seventy) Prisoners. This pardon does not affect the civil rights and penal consequences of the offense they were convicted of, according to Article 92 of the Penal Code. This amnesty is enforced by the Office of the Attorney General, in accordance with the list of prisoners and the requirements of this Circular.
