The President of the Republic of Somaliland H.E Muse Bihi Abdi has issued a Presidential directive # JSL/XM/WM/222-509/052020 in which he grants a general amnesty on the occasion of marking the 18 May celebration.
In a Press Statement Released by the Director of Presidential Communication Office and signed by the President stated as Follows: –
As of today, I offer a general amnesty to inmates of felony convictions in state prisons, 365 (three hundred and sixty-five) inmates. This pardon does not affect the civil rights and penal consequences of the offense they were convicted of, according to Article 92 of the Penal Code. This amnesty is enforced by the Office of the Attorney General, in accordance with the list of prisoners and the requirements of this Circular.
