The Somaliland President Muse Bihi Abdi hosted a gala dinner for foreign diplomats and other dignitaries last evening at the presidency in Hargeisa.
The dinner was held to inaugurate the Hargeisa International Book Fair which begins today. The President welcomed the authors, academics and other participants of the book fair to Somaliland and wished them success in their endeavours.
Among the foreign dignitaries present at the dinner, was the new EU envoy, Ambassador Nicolas Berlanga Martinez, who in a brief speech commended the organizers of the Hargeisa International Book Fair, on a unique event which contributes to understanding and co-operation throughout the region.
The founder of the Hargeisa International Book Fair, Dr. Jama Muse Jama, also welcomed the guests and participants, and declared that this year’s guest country is Egypt and the theme is coexistence.
The Book Fair runs from the 20th to the 25th of July in Hargeisa across various cultural and education centres.
