The President of the Republic of Somaliland, HE Mr. Muse Bihi Abdi, at the Presidency received the Hon. Gavin Williamson, UK Defence Secretary, , who is currently in the country on an official visit.
During the meeting, that lasted a few hours the President and Hon. Gavin Williamson, UK Defence Secretary discussed ways of bolstering the long historical relations between the Republic Somaliland and the United Kingdom.
Both sides reaffirmed the need to enhance the existing political and diplomatic relations and at the same time exploring ways of increasing cooperation in a wider range of issues between the two countries.
Hon. Yassin Mahmoud Hiir (Fartoon), Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon Esse Ahmed Yusuf (Xawar), Minister Defence together with Ms. Ayaan Mohamoud Ashoor, Somaliland representative to the UK flanked the President, during the meeting.
