The President of the Republic of Somaliland, Mr. Muse Bihi Abdi, accompanied by the Vice President of Somaliland, HE Abdurrahman Abdilahi Ismail (Saylici) today met with the leaders of the opposition party UCID and WADDANI, Mr. Faisal Ali Warabe and Mr. Abdurrahman Mohamed Abdilahi. In the meeting, many issues relating to the general situation in the country were discussed.
The meeting between UCID and WADDANI party leaders focused on:
- To work together with the leadership of the national parties in a timely manner in which elections are to be held.
- To work with the three national parties to overcome barriers to holding elections in the House of Representatives and the constituencies.
- Collaborate with the three national parties on the mediation proposals on electoral issues.
The President and the leaders of the opposition parties have agreed to hold consultations with their parties, and have scheduled further meetings to discuss the outstanding issues.
