Somaliland President H.E Musa Bihi Abdi held a meeting with U.S. NSC official on March 15.
The President of the Republic of Somaliland and US officials discussed means to intensify the cooperation between SL and the US.
Bihi expressed that Somaliland government is committed to have a role in the security and stability in the Horn of Africa region.
The Head of State together with the high-level delegation is currently staying in Washington DC for the third day running in an official working trip to US.
SL met with senior members of the National Security Council to discuss cooperation, security, democracy and development. The President of Somaliland and his delegation also held other meetings with the National Institutions for Democracy and the World Bank.
The Somaliland delegation participated an important business and investment conference at the International Financial Corporation (IFC) in the United States yesterday. The meeting, which was attended by US investors, was attended by some Somaliland businessmen who are part of the US President’s delegation in the United States.
The meetings come after the Somaliland delegation met Tuesday with officials from State Departments’ Mary Catherine Phee, Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs of the United States, Ilan Goldenberg of Department of Defense, Maura Barry Boyle of USAID and Amb Andrew Young, of United States Africa Command, to explore opportunities for economic, security and development cooperation in the interests of both parties.
