The President of the Republic of Somaliland, HE Muse Bihi Abdi, on a working visit to the coastal city of Berbera, today inspected a new food and medicine testing facility in Berbera.
The President, accompanied by members of his delegation, went one by one to the various rooms of the National Laboratory Center, which was established by the Quality Control Agency, and was welcomed by various officials and staff of the agency.
Mr. Muse Hassan Yusuf, briefed the President on the workings of the new modern Quality Control facility, which covers a wide range of matters that influence the quality of a product or service. He thanked the President and his Minister of Finance for providing the funds for building and equipping the state-of-the-art laboratories.
The Minister of Finance Development of the Republic of Somaliland speaking on the occasion, Dr. Saad Ali Shire said that modern construction and equipment have been funded by the citizens’ tax, adding that the country is on the path to self-reliance.
The President during the inspection of the new facility, commended the leadership of the Quality Control and Assurance Agency and urged them to continue to develop and achieve the national aspirations, and at the same time calling on the general public to participate in the national building process.
