The President H.E. Musa Bihi Abdi left for the Gulf country of the UAE for an official visit following a special invitation from the ruling monarchy.
According to the Foreign Minister Hon. Yasin Mohamud Hiir alias Faraton, the Head of State and his entourage would be on the official visit for few days.
He noted that the trip will have them focus on the bilateral relations and areas of mutual interest that ties the two countries together.
It is worth noting that the Dubai based DP World which runs the harbour it is named after happens to be the fourth largest in the world hence have taken over Berbera port management.
Apart from investing heavily in the coastal town it has several projects earmarked amongst them constructing a new port, the grand Berbera-Hargeisa-Togwajale highway etc.
The UAE in currently establishing a military air base whose construction have almost been completed.
It happens to be the first foreign country to heavily invest in Somaliland. The President was accompanied in the journey by FM Hon. Yasin Faraton and the just appointed Planning and National Development Minister Hon. Abdirahim Osman Abdi alias Shibbin.
They boarded a private chartered jet courtesy of the mornachy.
