Somaliland President Musa Bihi Abdi has held a meeting with the National Election Commission and discussed issues on the upcoming elections, according to a statement from the presidency.
The discussions focused on accelerating the election process regarding the upcoming parliamentary and local council polls.
The National Electoral Commission notified the Head of State that the election process kicked off citing the mock voter registration which was conducted in some parts of the country.
The president lauded the work of the electoral commission and stressed that the election must take place within the agreed schedule.
NEC and the political parties agreed that polls will take place early in 2021.
