The President of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E Muse Bihi Abdi today issued a Presidential directive No# JSL/XM/G/083-488/032020, in which he appointed a new committee to counter the threat posed by Coronavirus.
The Presidential decree stated as follows: –
Presidential Appointment;
To: Minister of Health Development
To: Minister of the Interior
To: Minister of Information, Culture, and National Guidance
To: Minister of Religion and Endowment
To: Minister of Education and Science
Purpose: Appointment of a National Committee on Coronavirus (Covid-19).
Ladies, and Gentlemen
As you know, we have taken national steps to prevent the outbreak of the epidemic, and the world with Coronavirus (Covid-19). We have made a strong and active commitment to the staff of the Ministry of Health who launched investigations and inspections at all airports, seaports, and land of entry. However, more effort is required, preparation and prevention of the disease.
Therefore, I have appointed you as the members of the National Coordinating and Prevention Committee of Coronavirus (Covid-19), under the chairmanship of the Minister of Health.
I hope you will take responsibility bestowed upon you seriously in the preparation and prevention of the disease.
