The Head of State H.E. Musa Bihi Abdi received the new ambassador of the United Kingdom Amb Mike Nithavrianakis who came to the country on Wednesday.
They mainly discussed bilateral issues such as how the British government and the Republic of Somaliland would launch the joint projects of the two governments of the Berbera Corridor and the development of the Berbera port.
They analyzed the previous projects related to the social issues supported by the British government in Somaliland, speeding up the existing ones and on the new ones.
The upcoming elections in Somaliland were pondered on and the president informed the ambassador that the preparations for the elections were going on smoothly, such as the work of printing and distributing voter cards.
On the other hand, the issue of the Las Anod war was discussed in the meeting in order to find a solution.
The president reiterated his stance that the government is always committed to a ceasefire and that it has always been ready for peace.
The president was flanked at the meeting by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Hon. Abdinasir Omar Jama.
The British delegation was accompanied by other officials from the UK development office in Somaliland
