Somaliland Police officers seized illegal firearms and Alcohol in an operation conducted in the Canjid District of Las Anod town, Sool region.
Major Mohamed Saleban Goon, the commanding officer of Somaliland Police in Sool region speaking to reporters said, “Somaliland Police officers arrested one suspect and seized illegal firearms (AK 47 and Pistol) and 92 Alcohol liters during the operation conducted in the Canjid District of Las Anod town
The commanding officer of Somaliland Police in Sool region said that Police seized the alcohol using information gathered from searches, tip-offs and technical and physical surveillance.
Alcohol is prohibited by our Islamic faith and nothing but a nuisance that causes problems.
He added that the suspect will be arraigned in court after police officers complete their investigations.
On the other hand, Mr. Saleban Diriye Abdi, the deputy governor of Sool region lauded the police for the successful operation in seizing the illegal firearms and alcohol.
