Mr. Ahmed Muumin Seed, Minister of Agriculture currently on a working visit in Turkey met with top representatives of Opal Pivot, producing the world’s most advanced systems, the Center Pivot, Linear Pivot and Universal Pivot systems in the field of agricultural irrigation in Konyo region where the company headquarters is based.
Minister of Agriculture speaking to reporters said,“During my visit, I meet with the head of chamber of commerce in Konyo region, we discussed ways in which Somaliland can improve and upgrade cereals and fruit production and in turn they pledged to offer capacity building, knowledge and training to SL ministry of agriculture staff which will be essential for increasing the food production in the country.
He further stated that “We came to Turkey to participate in the international trade fair held in the city of Izmir, this being the second time we’re attending. As a result, Somaliland has moved forward with the productivity and we want to change the country’s agricultural productivity through the introduction of the most advanced system in the world in the field of agricultural irrigation in a bid to increase our agricultural output which will satisfy the country’s needs and export the surplus to African, Asian and European countries.
