REPUBLIC OF SOMALILAND

 National Values and Principles of Governance

Under the National Constitution (2001), Chapter One, Article 1 through 7, describe the General Provisions, Part Two, Article 8 through to 20 describe the General Principles, and Part Three, Article 21 through 36 describe Individual Rights, Fundamental Freedoms and the Duties of Citizens as guaranteed by the Constitution of the Republic of Somaliland. In addition, the  Preamble of the National Constitution (2001) states values and principles it is based on and which are too considered basic values and principles of governance of Somaliland.

Summary of the National Values and Principles

Qiyamka Qaranimo iyo Mabaadii’da Dawladnimo National Values and Principles of Governance
 

1.     Islaamnimo, xornimo iyo madaxbannaani;

2.     Wadaninimo, nabad iyo midnimo qaran;

3.     Dhaqan suuban, talo-wadaag, wadajir bulsho, iskaashi iyo isku-tashi;

4.     Dastuur, dimuqraadiyad iyo ku-dhaqan sharci;

5.     Sinnaan, caddaalad, xuquuqo shakhsi, xorriyado aasaasi ah iyo waajibaad;

6.     Maamul-wanaag, daacadnimo iyo toosnaan;

7.     Adkaysi iyo horumar waara.
