H.E. Vice President Abdurrahman Abdallahi Ismail “Saylici” officially launched the second phase of national development II Priorities forum organized by the Ministry of National Planning and Rural Development
The conference brought together cabinet ministers and heads of governmental heads with the aim of conferring and evaluating the national development plans for the year 2019.
Mr. Awale Ibrahim Shirwac, minister of national planning while addressing those attending the forum said, “The conference is the second phase of the national development forum and the second such since the current government led by H.E. President Muse Bihi came to power. The aim of this forum is to stimulate discussions on how we plan for the year 2019 and hence can be translated and implemented to meet the development and service delivery needs of communities, citizens and stakeholders. Thus, the need to consolidate the international aid we receive from donor’s which currently is estimated to be $100 Million dollars per year.
H.E. Vice President Abdurrahman Abdallah Ismail “Saylici” speaking at the venue said, “Somaliland has being selected to be a recipient of the UN’s Joint Programme on Local Governance and Decentralized Service Delivery (JPLG),. The program will help to clarify the legal framework, functions, roles and responsibilities between the central and local governments and in line with the 2014 decentralization policy, making collaboration around service delivery in districts more effective and giving local governments the ability to deliver any meaningful services to citizens in all regions of the country.
