A meeting between the administration of Selal region and the Ministry of Energy and Minerals was held in the town of Abdiqadir which is the launch of mineral exploration by the Ministry of Energy and Minerals in the region of Selal, especially in the cities of Abdiqadir, Adawe, Jidhi, and Harirad.
The launching of the exploration project was presided over by the Director-General of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals and the Director of the Minerals Department and four geologists. The inaugural exploration project was shared with the locals on the design of the project and also encouraged the residents of the area to participate.
Mr. Omer Yusuf Omer, the Director of the Minerals Department in the Ministry of Energy and Minerals said that the Ministry had in full swing begun the exploration of minerals in the cities of Abdiqadir, Adawe, Jidhi and Harirad, and surrounding areas.
Local Elders and Youth who participated in the opening of the Exploration Project pledged to fully support the exploration process.
