He said, “This policy is not one that we are creating today; it is a continuation of a previously established policy. However, we are presenting it now, and it dates back to 2018. Today, we will review what is missing and needs to be added, and we will focus on that during this period.”

The Director-General of the Ministry of Education and Science of Somaliland, Mr. Abdirahman Hussein Haji Ali, elaborated on the national education policy.

He stated, “The essence is, what is the role of the teacher? The teacher is the second closest parent to the child. We want a person with a bright future to emerge, and for such a person to emerge, a good teacher is essential. As a government, we have placed great emphasis on the teacher policy and the education policy. The core of this is to cultivate the future of the country. The individuals we aim to cultivate are those who will lead the nation tomorrow. Therefore, it is crucial that we focus on nurturing the topic we are discussing here today.”
