DG receives companies that want to establish the business in Berbera free zone
Minister of Investment and Industry Hon. Amina Elmi Farid led a high-powered government delegation to the western region of the country. The minister and her entourage received a warm welcome from the region’s residents and leaders. The recently appointed minister was on her first visit to Awdal and Selel Regions since her elevation to the post.
The delegation consisted minister of trade and tourism, the assistant minister of information, the director general ministry of labour and social services, and the Managing Director of Somaliland Road Authority.
Their tour of duty took them through different districts of Awdal and Selel Regions. On their third day they visited Abase, Adaad and Heego villages in the Awdal region. The tour mission pertains to the evaluation and inspection of the regions development initiatives.
In another development, the Director General of the ministry of investment and industry Mr. Mohamed Osman Said who was flanked by the director of the special economic zone Mr. Mahad Mohamoud Qaasim received an investment group representative Mr. Mehmet Melih Cen, a senior official of TM GROUP GENERAL TRADING FZE Djibouti Incorporated. The investment company seeks to lease land in Berbera Free Zone.
The DG elaborated on the various investment opportunities available at the Free Zone area in Berbera.
The investors’ delegation disclosed that they were ready to invest in the Free Zone area. They were ushered to the coastal town to inspect the opportunities.
