Jama Kara’in bids farewell to his career after 48 years
The Vice President of the Republic of Somaliland Hon. Abdirahman Abdillahi Ismail (Seyla’i), who addressed the gathering, stated Jama is a role model, who has earned the respect and admiration of the people of Somaliland and the Somali people in general.
A well-organized event attended by officials from the three branches of the Nation, other dignitaries and over hundreds of the public were praised Jama Kara’in’s experience, running skills, winning international awards, as a player, as a coach, whose players won international awards, and by this time he had become a major investor in the country.
Various leaders who spoke at the event all described Jama, Dad, Athlete, Coach, Scholar, and Entrepreneur, who has been in the running for 48 years, as a role model, with success in all respects.
Jama Kara’in is said to be the only coach in the world who has coached 38 players who have won World Record, further, the only coach to have won five Olympic medals.
Politician Mohamud Hashi Abdi made a brief statement saying that Jama has succeeded in life and has contributed.
He called on the youth to follow his example and make a difference in this world and in the hereafter.
WADDANI Party Chairman Hon. Hirsi Ali H. Hassan in his address to the gathering congratulated Jama and his wife Su’ad.

WADDANI Party Candidate Hon. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Ero) praised Jama and his family for their success and said Somaliland had a chance to take advantage of it.
He says he has become a successful runner, coach, businessman, and father, and needs to be emulated.

He called on the wealthy Somaliland communities to follow Jama’s example.
