The President of the Republic of Somaliland, Mr. Muse Bihi Abdi, and the leaders of the two official opposition parties Hon Abdurrahman Mohamed Abdallahi “Irro” and Hon. Faisal Ali Hussein jointly issued a general appeal to the Somaliland citizens to strictly follow preventive practices and comply with governmental decisions in a bid to prevent the novel Coronavirus infections.
Hon. Abdurrahman Mohamed Abdallahi “Irro”, the chairman of the Waddani, the main opposition party appealed on the public to abide by the health advice issued by the relevant authorities and at the same time urged the government of Somaliland to institute additional COVID-19 preparedness and response measures but what is most important is for citizens to adhere with the ministry of health directives such as a social distancing and other measures.
Hon. Faisal Ali Hussein, the leader of UCID on his part said that prevention is the best medicine in the fight against the COVID-19. My message to fellow citizens is to strictly observe the instructions issued by the health authorities and adherence to these additional extraordinary measures such as not shaking hands, keep away from public gatherings, observe social distancing which are critical factors in preventing COVID-19 infections.
The President of the Republic of Somaliland H.E. Muse Bihi Abdi said, “Everyone in society has a role to play: not to be infected yourself, and to protect others thus why I urge citizens of Somaliland to follow the advice of the health officials. These are unprecedented times. It is important that we work together, May Allah protect us from this calamity.
