Minister of Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Hon. Said Sulub Mohamed said the project of drought resilience and livelihood sustainability would benefit over forty thousand farming pastoralist families in a vast area of the country.
He gave the sentiments as he received the completed projects that is IGAD funded pledging that his ministry will make good use of the facilities.
The project comprised of several building structures and vehicles in different districts.
Hon. Saeed who spoke at the handing over event on Tuesday said that it will help a lot to take care of animals which are the backbone of our economy.
Minister Said Sulub said that the Ministry of Animal Husbandry will take responsibility for the maintenance and servicing of the vehicles and buildings of the project that have been handed over hence implemented by Save the Children Fund.
“We promise to take care of what we have received from the project, and we will deliver the benefits to the country”, he quipped.
He said that all regions and districts of the country have access to medicine and veterinarians and at the same time thanked all those who participated in its funding and implementation.
The buildings are of Hargeisa Livestock, the Quarantine Centers of Salahley, Faraweyne Districts, and the buildings of the Ministry of Animal Husbandry in Oodweyne and Bali-gubadle, and three vehicles intended for the Animal Health emergency services were what the project entailed.
Mr. Abdinasir, head of Save The Children, Dr Muhiyadin Daha head of Agriculture and Food atIGAD and various officials also spoke at the forum.
