Mr. Khadar Hussein Abdi, the Secretary-General of WADANI opposition party, Mr. Barkhad Jama Batun the party spokesperson and Mr. Abdi Ibrahim have been released from the notorious Mandera prison.
On Sunday night, 17th November 2019, the Police in Somaliland arrested two opposition leaders, Khadar Hussein Abdi, the secretary-general of Waddani, and the spokesperson of the party, Barkhad Jama Batun.
The trio detention came about after the leaders of Somaliland’s main opposition party, Waddani, had called for a demonstration in Hargeisa by its supporters on Monday, November, 18th, which the government banned.
