The Judiciary, Justice, Laws and Human Rights Committee of the House of Representatives held a meeting on Wednesday with senior officials from the Red Crescent and Red Cross Societies on the conditions of prisoners.
The meeting was presided over by the chairman of the committee Hon. Fuad Ahmed Dirie, heard briefs from the humanitarian societies’ officials on the plights of the condition of the prisoners of war held in Lasanod and their humanitarian efforts in addressing them.
On their part the committee gave information about the work and the monitoring inspections they went through in the country’s prisons, the needs and plight of the inmates and also how to address them too.
