The Berbera Corridor Development Committee chaired by the Minister of Finance Hon. Dr. Saad Ali Shire made a working visit to the commercial town of Tog-wajale with the aim of securing an area for the Wajale Dry Port, a transit route to the Wajale border (By Pass), Parking area and land for small businesses in both Somaliland and Ethiopia.
The Minister was accompanied by Minister of Trade, Industry and Tourism Hon. Mohamud Hassan Sa’ad Saajin, Mr. Muse Hassan Haji Yusuf, Chairman of the Quality Assurance Agency, Berbera Trade Project Coordinator, Head of Trade Mark East Africa, Director of the Monetary Policy Department of the Central Bank and a senior immigration official.
The Berbera Corridor Development Committee was welcomed the Governor of Gabiley region, Wajale district commissioner, Kalabayd customs director, Wajale customs director, and all district and regional officials operating the region.
On the other hand, the Berbera Corridor development committee and the Gabiley regional administration agreed to set up a technical committee to work on the completion of the Berbera corridor.
