Berbera- The Berbera municipal council has taken steps to upgrade its waste management fleet with Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Vehicles, in line with its New Year plans.
The Mayor of Berbera, Mr. Abdishakur Mahmoud Hassan speaking during the launching of the new sanitation vehicles said, “The City Sanitation will deploys its fleet of 4 specialized garbage pick-up and trash collection trucks from its City council facility. The trucks are operated by employees who are hired locally.
The office personnel are also local residents. City Sanitation offers customers, both residential and commercial, a full array of trash and garbage containers to choose from.
Mr. Abdikarim Aden Siad, the town’s clerk speaking during the event said that with the acquisition of the new garbage and sanitation vehicles the city of Berbera would upgrade its waste management services it offers to both residents and commercial entities in the city.
The residents of the port city of Berbera welcomed the acquisition of the new garbage and sanitation vehicles.
