The 23rd meeting of the JPLG local government decentralization project opened on Wednesday in Boorama.
The head of JPLG’s local government decentralization program, Hussein Mohamud Ji’ir, who spoke at the opening of the meeting, said, “This is the 23rd meeting of JPLG’s project held in Boorama”.
He said that they were analyzing the current issues of the JPLG project in the health, education and water sectors.
The mayor of Boorama, Mohamed Ahmed Warsame said that the decentralization project is important for local governments.
The governor of Awdal region, Mohamed Ahmed Aalin Timbaro suggested that the low-income districts should not be looked down upon.
The director general of the Ministry of Health Development, Dr. Mohamed Abdi Xergeye, who spoke at the conference, indicated that the ministry is emphatically committed to decentralizing the health sector such that the services are fledged should be freed from health services.
“We are committed to providing health services”, he said.
