The President of the Republic of Somaliland, HE Muse Bihi Abdi, today received a delegation from the International Community led by EU Ambassador Nicolas Belanga Martinez.
The meeting discussed a number of issues including the holding of elections in the House of Representatives and local councils, the National Electoral Commission, and the international community’s contribution to social development, elections, and the promotion of economic support for the Republic. Somaliland.
Finally, the President of the Republic of Somaliland told the delegation that the government is committed to holding elections once the political parties reach an agreement on solving the elections technically and in accordance with the laws of the country.
The President reiterated that his invitation to the opposition still stands.
The EU ambassador Nicolas Berlanga Martinez, was accompanied by the Italian ambassador Alberto Vecchi, German Ambassador Amb. Annett Guenther and officials from the Netherlands, Finland, Poland, Austria, IGAD and Denmark.
