Today, the Republic of Somaliland celebrates a defining moment in its democratic journey with the inauguration of H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi (Ciro) as the newly elected President and H.E. Amb. Mohamed Ali as Vice President. This significant event also marks the conclusion of the leadership of H.E. Muse Bihi Abdi, whose term came to an honorable close on 12th December 2024.
The peaceful transfer of power underscores Somaliland’s steadfast commitment to democracy, stability, and good governance. As President Iro and his administration assume office, the nation looks forward to a new chapter filled with economic development, strengthened international relations, and a continued pursuit of global recognition.
Mr. Abdikarim Abdi, veteran Somaliland International Sovereignty Campaigner, expressed his appreciation and support, stating:
