State Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Prof. Afework Kassu attended Tokyo International Conference on Africa Development (TICAD) Ministerial level held on 6 October 2018 in Tokyo with theme “ensure Africa’s Economic Transformation.” In this regards, the State Minister said TICAD program align with Ethiopia’s development package and benefited from the cooperation. Beyond bilateral cooperation, Ethiopia and Japan also works closely on Kaizan philosophy, private sector development, human resource training, technology transfer among others, said Professor Afework.
During the event, the State Minister also held sideline meeting with Mr. Kiyoto Suji and discussed on a range of issues that are pertinent to strengthen the bilateral, regional and multilateral cooperation between the two countries. To this end, the State Minister briefed the Japan’s officials in the current political, economic, and social, justice and reform development in the country and the wind of peace blown to the Horn of Africa.
In line with this, Mr. Kiyoto Suji took note and appreciate the reform championed by Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed and confirmed Japan’s support to advance the peace and stability and cooperation undergoing in the Horn of Africa and work closely with Ethiopia to advance the already flourishing relationship.According Ethiopian Foreign Ministry
