DP WORLD, provider of worldwide smart end-to-end supply chain logistics, has handed over the final of several shipments of medical supplies it donated to Somaliland, to help its people in the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic.
The final shipment, which included 150000 masks, 3000 medical coveralls, thousands of gloves and hundreds of goggles and face shields, was handed over this week to His Excellency, Abdirahman Abdillahi Ismail, Vice President of The Republic of Somaliland and Chairman of Somaliland’s National Committee for Preparedness and Prevention of COVID-19, by Supachai Wattanaveerachai, CEO of DP World Berbera.
H.E. Ahmed Mohamed Dirie, Minister of Education, H.E. Saleban Ali kore, Minister of Information, and Dr Abdiwali Ahmed, Director General of the Ministry of Health, also attended the handover ceremony.
The supply of medical equipment to Somaliland was a collaborative campaign by DP World’s headquarters in Dubai and the management of DP World Berbera. The first shipment began in April and included ventilators, intubation kits, and significant quantities of personal protective equipment for doctors, nurses, first responders, and other emergency staff.
