The representative of the Republic of Somaliland to France Hon. Ali Ismail Hassan who has been invited to the Paris Peace Forum elaborated on Somaliland’s position on the Ethiopian war and their views on the solution, which concluded last week in Paris, France.
The Paris Peace Forum conference, organized annually by France government and attended by 2,400 delegates, including 45 heads of state and CEO from major financial institutions such as the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, were discussed the crisis in Ethiopia, Sudan resulting widespread insecurity that could affect the entire continent and neighboring countries, including Somaliland.
A statement issued by the Somaliland office in France on Thursday said, “Hon. Ali Ismail Hassan spoke about the role Somaliland can play in stabilizing the Horn of Africa and how it can be replicated his country’s bottom up security pacification process.
Ambassador Ali also elaborated on how role of security in the Horn of Africa, and the economy, trade and social cohesion in communities intertwine and any crisis will have a devastating effect on the Horn of Africa, the continent and the world at large.
Earlier this year, the President of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E. Muse Bihi Abdi, made it clear that Somaliland would remain neutral in the conflicts in the Horn of Africa, and called to end all rift with negotiation, stated Amb. Hon Ali Ismail.
French President H.E. Emmanuel Macron presided over the opening ceremony of the 4th Paris Peace Forum, addressed the major challenges facing the world today in the fight against inequality, climate, global health, and human rights.
